Mr. Wagner is the founder of The Law Practice of Wagners Inc. He graduated with a Law Degree from Dalhousie University in 1979. Mr. Wagner was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1980, and has practiced law since that time. His practice is restricted to plaintiff's personal injury liability with a primary focus in class actions, mass tort litigation, medical negligence, product liability and catastrophic motor vehicle accident cases.
He was a founder and inaugural President of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association (APTLA). He is also a member, since 1988, of the American Association of Justice (AAJ), the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), the Canadian Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). He has been chosen to be a panelist or lecturer at a number of conferences held by Lexpert, CBA, AAJ, OTLA, APTLA, Nova Scotia Continuing Legal Education (NSCLE), Public Legal Education (PLE), Canadian Pain Society and the Bar Admission Course of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society. Mr. Wagner's clients include the Westray mine disaster victim families, survivors of abuse at the Nova Scotia Home for Coloured Children, senior citizens in the long term health care Class Action, residents of the infamous Sydney Tar Ponds, residents of Greenwood, NS PERC water contamination claims, residents affected by the pathology errors at the Miramichi Hospital as well as injured patients in Vioxx and OxyContin pharmaceutical Class Actions. His extensive practice in medical errors although primarily focussed in Nova Scotia extends to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. He has special interest in birth trauma, cancer and premature death cases. He participated as an active member of the Nova Scotia Statutory Costs and Fees Committee leading to an enactment of the new costs regime, of the NSBS Rules Committee, and of a subcommittee on Contingency Fee Agreements. Mr. Wagner has also authored many articles and papers in the area of personal injury litigation and has appeared before all levels of courts in Nova Scotia and the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC).
